Matrim (Mat) Cauthon is a farmboy, a gambler, a soldier and a lover from Emond’s Field in the Two Rivers, a district in Andor.
Mat was born in the 978th year of the New Era in the Third Age. Mat stands at 1 span, 1 foot, 2 inches in height, and weighs 18 stone. He has brown hair and a brown eye.
He is married to the Empress of the SeanChan (may she live forever). He is the son of Natti and Abel Cauthon, and has two younger sisters: Bodewhin and Eldrin.
Mat is an expert in fighting wih a quarterstaff. He’s quite knowledgeable in horse trading and has a considerable opinion on boots.
Mat is the leader of the Band of the Red hand and was General of the forces of the Light in the Last Battle, defeating the forces of the Shadow lead by Demandred on the Field of Merrilor.
